Nope…if not I wouldn’t be asking. What is the IRC server that they should connect to?

Encounter God now @ EncounterwithGod.com!September 5, 2004 at 1:43 pm #3696GodSquadParticipantHey! Congrats on getting your room up!
The big grey box is probably because you failed to accept the certificate when you were accessing the chat room. If you did it the first time and aren’t prompted any longer to accept it, try deleting your cookies and temporary internet files…reboot your computer and try again.
If this doesn’t work…try uninstalling the Java software on your computer and then try installing the newest Java software from http://www.java.com
If that doesn’t work…try uninstalling your internet browser and installing the newest version (Ex: Internet Explorer 6.0 from http://www.microsoft.com)
As far as your other question, no one has to be registered to chat in your room, unless you set it up that way.
Well…again…congrats on the new room! Hope you get it working right! Pax!
Encounter God now @ EncounterwithGod.com!September 5, 2004 at 1:36 pm #3695GodSquadParticipantHey!
That’s a pretty loaded question you’ve got there.
1. I’ve experienced similar problems where some people
simply cannot access the chat room. Some solutions that
have solved this problem for me in the past…
a. Have them delete their cookies and temporary internet
files, reboot their computer, and then try getting in
again.
b. Have them un-install their Java software and re-
install the latest Java software from http://www.java.com
c. Have them upgrade their internet software (Ex: To
Internet Explorer 6.0)
See if those trouble shooting tips help.
2. Securing the rooms mode (as far as I understand it)
means that no unauthorized person can change any
settings in your room
3. Securing the moderator means that you or someone you
authorize can take control of the room, giving them the
ability to change the topic, voice or devoice people,
and kick or kick ban people.
You do this by first identifying the registered nick
with…
/identify YOURPASSWORDHERE
Then typing…
/chanserv op
If the nick is an authorized nick, it will now appear
with an @ in front of its name, meaning it’s the
moderator of the room.
4. As far as setting up no cursing…first add a bot to
your room.
Do this using the command:
/botserv ASSIGN NAMEOFYOURCHANNELHERE NAMEOFBOTHERE
To get a list of available bots, use the command:
/botserv botlist
Once you’ve added the bot to your room, add the bad
words to your bad word list. To do this, use the
command:
/botserv badwords NAMEOFYOURCHANNELHERE add BADWORDHERE
Repeat the same command for each bad word you would like
to add to your room.
5. To register a nickname, first sign in using that
nickname, then type in the command:
/nickserv register PASSWORDHERE EMAILHERE
I hope all of this helped! I’m fairly new to all this, so anyone else on here, feel free to correct anything above that’s wrong…just trying to help.
Hope it all works out! Pax!
Encounter God now @ EncounterwithGod.com!September 2, 2004 at 2:04 pm #3691GodSquadParticipantHey aLeSs!
Thanks for replying!
I’ve already tried dealing with all those issues. The chatter has IE 6.0 and Windows XP, has accessed the chat before and has always accepted the certificate.
The only viable alternative I can think of is this one that I am posing which I have no idea how to go about doing. Any ideas how to access the room via MIRC?
Thanks for the help!
Encounter God now @ EncounterwithGod.com!June 25, 2004 at 3:54 pm #3555GodSquadParticipantOK…thanks…at least now I know it can’t be done.
Encounter God now @ EncounterwithGod.com!April 22, 2004 at 6:47 pm #3390GodSquadParticipantOK…thing is…I don’t have a pop up blocker installed and am not behind a firewall. So what else could be causing this? Is there another way for me to access my chat then typing in a user name on the Java Chat log in?
Encounter God now @ EncounterwithGod.com!April 6, 2004 at 9:53 pm #3309GodSquadParticipantOK…now that I know what each of the options means…how do I get them to work!?!
A couple of problems that I have encountered….
I can kick a person out, but when I highlight their name and select Kick Ban, I get “%NoSuchChannel”
Also…I added my ‘bad words’ list but tried testing out whether it would kick me off and it didn’t. Why did this not work for me!?!
Please help!
Encounter God now @ EncounterwithGod.com!April 6, 2004 at 9:47 pm #3308GodSquadParticipantThanks! That was quite helpful!!!
Encounter God now @ EncounterwithGod.com!March 31, 2004 at 12:28 pm #3287GodSquadParticipantUMMM…I don’t think I’m seeing things. LOL All the way at the bottom of the page to the right of where it says “Having difficulty accessing the God Squad Online Youth Group?” there is a box with a red X as if an image did not load. I would not post this here if I didn’t think this was an issue involving chatters online. The thing is that if I delete the chat room code, the box no longer appears, but it’s once I paste the code in that the box appears. Anyone have any clue what is going on!?! Thanks for your help!
Encounter God now @ EncounterwithGod.com!March 17, 2004 at 1:08 am #3185GodSquadParticipantsorry…may be a stupid question…but what is the purpose of adding voiced users and the ACCESS option?
Encounter God now @ EncounterwithGod.com!March 16, 2004 at 4:07 am #3168GodSquadParticipantI believe I am the owner of the room. How would I determine that?
Encounter God now @ EncounterwithGod.com!March 16, 2004 at 1:28 am #3166GodSquadParticipantOK…after typing /identify and the passowrd and enter and being recognized…I’ve tried typing /chanserv op but NOTHING happens! PLEASE HELP! I still can’t set the topic!!!
Encounter God now @ EncounterwithGod.com!March 3, 2004 at 3:26 am #3125GodSquadParticipantOK…I’m still a little confused. I’ve been able to register my room and registered all my users. But now no one can set the topic because it says we are not the channel operator.
I have tried ‘logging in’ with the nick that I registered the room, but nothing. Then after logging in with that nick, I’ve also tried using /chanserv access #RoomName add RegisteredNick 5, but I get a message saying that I can’t use that command.
PLEASE HELP!
Encounter God now @ EncounterwithGod.com!March 1, 2004 at 3:37 am #3090GodSquadParticipantMaybe I sound ignorant, but I’m fairly new to this. I registered to be able to copy the code onto my web page but is that what you mean by register your nickname and register your room? Also…what do you mean by identify yourself? Thanks for your help!
