    Hey Dave,

You’re gonna have my head when all’s said and done. LOL! (Does it help if I say I’m eagerly awaiting the pay version? I’d love transcribing capabilities… and other features you’ve talked about being available pay. 🙂

Anywho, girl #1 is now able to get in– woohoo! You rock! But, unfortunately, girl #2 has cleared her cookies and such and is still having trouble. Her scenario:

“When I click the link it takes me to the chat window and I see that whole frame with the emoticons down the side and everything. It just never asks me if I want to download the software (or whatever it asks). The window just sits there….empty.”

They’re on NT, Version 4, could that be the problem? She uses IE– ack, her email didn’t include the version. I’ll find out from her and let you know.

    Thanks again,

    Carrie

    Hey Dave,

    Thanks for the quick response!

I thought that that file sounded funky– but though I’m fairly proficient at PCs, I’m a total ditz when it comes to Macs. So I didn’t know if that was a Mac thing.

It’s OS 9.0.4… AOL 5.0, Netscape 6.0, and IE 4.5. She said she’s tried all, and none of them will work. She’s gotten the error message with both Netscape and AOL. In IE, it prompts her for the nickname, then takes her as far as the “Connecting to Milwaukee.US.chattersonline.com” but no further. 🙁

Thanks again for the help. (I have one other user who’s having problems, but I suspect hers is either a security settings or cookies issue… so perhaps I can work that out on my own. LOL!)

I use XP and haven’t had any problems– so the applet IS XP-compatable. I bought my computer about three months ago and haven’t changed a single setting– used the defaults on everything, including IE.
