Room password

    Ok i’ve hunted around a bit and can’t find for looking advice on how to password protect your chatroom.

    Im using advanced and I have set password with chanserv but its still letting everyone in without one.

    ok, you need to set your room modes to +k, k for key. It should ask you for a password again, if not it will be the one you set before, Then only people who know the key(password) will beable to get in.

    If you are still having trouble with this, please post your room name so we can come and help you!!!

    The room name is AfterDark

    I am pretty sure i also did the +k thing and still someone has been in changing things around.

    Bad news tho……after I left the room, anyone could get in without the password and its back to not accepting the k anymore.

    Really? Because I went in there last night and they said it wasn’t. I’ll come around again sometime and check.

    It’s playing games with us then…..at the time i posted everyone that went in had to use the password.

    Here is what I want you to try if I am not around to help you when you get this next.

    DON’T FORGET TO IDENTIFY YOURSELF

    then try

    /chanserv SET #AfterDark MLOCK OFF

    then

    /chanserv SET #AfterDark MLOCK +nstk (password) on

    then

    Then you and everyone else in the room leave it. Wait a minute then return. If it does not stay I want you to try and register the room again.

    /chanserv REGISTER #AfterDark password description

    If none of this works, post again. Dave and I will then try to figure out what is going wrong.

    REMEMBER to ALWAYS IDENTIFY yourself!

    Well I identified myself (made sure of that)

    Did the first lot of things, left, waited, came back, no password.

    Tried doing it all again (identified self yes)

    So I re-registered room (tried twice and it said already registered).

    Tried first lot of things again…and still its not doing what its told.

    Sorry our room is being such a pain for you.
