HI..I have emailed a few times for help but haven’t heard back.I was wondering how to add another moderator to my chat room? The room won’t even let me give temperary status, the room automatically removes it
August 18, 2002 at 6:56 am #1221Pending on what bot it is you would have. You would have to type /msg <botname> adduser <moderator name> channel op or channel master or channel. It all depends on how much you trust that person. Also your room should be registered. That way you will have a bot and the server will keep all records of all moderators on file
August 18, 2002 at 2:54 pm #1228Rocky’s instructions are not for the server bots. The “temporary status” is removed because of “secure ops” being on. This is a protection feature.

August 24, 2002 at 1:59 am #1261amosstevensParticipantHi, I have been trying to type in:
/chanserv SET #roomname SECUREOPS (ON | OFF)
But no matter how I type it in(changing the room name to my rooms name) it keeps giving me syntax error!
August 24, 2002 at 3:23 am #1262This will turn them on:
/chanserv set #YourRoomNameHere secureops on
This will turn secure ops off:
/chanserv set #YourRoomNameHere secureops off
Hope that helps.

Now back to to the next steps on making a permanant moderator-me go read now.
August 28, 2002 at 3:09 am #1276amosstevensParticipantWEll it is I the one that needs baby steps instructions…I tried typing in the following(replacing my chat room name) came up error again…
/chanserv access #RoomName add NickName 5
August 28, 2002 at 2:14 pm #1278I think your room is using the xop system, by default. To add a user that will be oped (given moderator/operator status) you would type:
/chanserv aop #YourRoomName add NickName
To turn the aop list off (this will also clear it) you can set the xop on/off:
/chanserv set #YourRoomName xop off
Then you can use the “access” command to assign different levels to users.
Using the aop command as I have shown above will auto op the users. It stands for “auto op”

August 31, 2002 at 1:03 am #1285This won’t affect you as your the room owner.
Nothing rhymes with Cindy Crawford after 9 coronas...September 21, 2002 at 9:09 pm #1347amosstevensParticipantWell I have been trying to add the nickname to my user list & have had no success! It keeps coming up that the user name isn’t registered or that the access level is sub zero?
September 21, 2002 at 9:34 pm #1349Is the nickname of the user your trying to add registered on the chat server with NickServ?
They need to be a registered user under NickServ to be added to anything as far as the chat server goes.
They need to type /nickserv register TheirPass TheirEmail
to register.
Nothing rhymes with Cindy Crawford after 9 coronas...September 22, 2002 at 11:55 pm #1364amosstevensParticipantWell-lightening finally struck my pea brain…when you said to register them I thought I had to do so,but yes he has registered now but it’s still telling me that “registering him at sub zero”? (or something like that) I have a feeling it has to do with the number that I’m suppose to classify him as? Not sure about that..some day I will get this done pact!
September 23, 2002 at 12:20 am #1366No it will not effect your personal registeration and name. You as the owner will always be on it. It might effect if you already have other ops on the list. I personaly like the levels better than AOP system!
