Hi Dave tonight i was in my chat room and got disconnected twice, I got a message that said java.net.socket Exception:Socket read failed I was able to reconnect straight away but it happened twice ……..any suggestions the room is called #BirdChat_Central
What browser and version are you using? Also, what operating system and version? If at all possible try upgrading to the newest browser possible. Could possibly be caused by a corrupted browser files? It’s hard to say for sure.
Nothing rhymes with Cindy Crawford after 9 coronas...Hmmm possibly a firewall could cause this also by not allowing the server to ping your connection to make sure it’s alive. Are you using a firewall? I’m just guessing as to the possible causes…

No im not running a firewall that I know of and i am running windows 98 with IE 5.5 as a browser perhaps i should up date to IE 6 what do you think? By the way Im not complaining this is the best chat room i have ever seen you have won me.

I would try upgrading your browser as there have been many bug fixes since 5.5 also you may want to check for windows updates as well. You may also have to download the java plugin from sun microsystems as well. I’ll get an url and post it here. The url is elsewhere around here too but I’ll have to hunt for it.

Nothing rhymes with Cindy Crawford after 9 coronas...Okay thanks for that Dave I have saved the address you have given me i will hang off down loading it yet as the updates i have done may fix the problem if it continues ill down load it. I dont actually loose the room from my screen it was just disconnecting me but i will see what happens to night and ill let you know. Thanks for the help
