One of the easiest ways to handle a disruptive chatter is to change the room’s mode to moderated. Before you can change a room’s mode you yourself need to be a moderator. Moderators have the @ character next to their names. Once the room is in moderated mode only moderators and those with voice may speak in the room. Voiced members have the + character next to their names. You then proceed to voice everyone but the disruptive chatter.
Step 1: Click on the +M button on the right hand side of the chat room.
Step 2: Highlight each nickname in the room’s name list that you wish to voice and click on the +V button on the right hand side of the chat room.
Step 3: Double Click on the nickname of the disruptive chatter. This should open a private message window with them. Inform them that they will be given voice also provided they behave.
