Do you mean as far as having the bot say a line in the room? Or are you saying you want the bot to give everyone that enters a private message that tells people the same descriptive sentance each time?

The personal greetings only work for registered nicknames that have access in your room.

I’ll just explain the whole situation to you. Normally the chat room is a free-for-all but on Saturday we are having a guest so it will be moderated. I want a messae that goes out to you when you come in that exaplins that, either said by the bot or otherwise. If we can only do it to registered users that’s fine because we will jsut manually message unregistered people. My other operator and I were messing around with the bot and what we could get was it to greet us with a greeting WE each created, what we couldn’t get was me writing a greeting and then the bot say it to him when he comes in. I think this is just the fault of a simple bot command I am not typing in…meaning the bot only does the greeting to me, but I am not sure.

    Hello there Saaby,

Can i make a suggestion to you? If you go into chanserv and type HELP SET ENTRYMSG This will give you the command to set a message in a popup window to everyone that enters your room.

    Only a suggestion.

    Thanks madpiper

madpiper is correct in that you can use chanserv to send this message to all that enter your room. While in your room type this command:

    /CHANSERV HELP SET ENTRYMSG

then a private message window will open and you can enter commands directly to chanserv from there without having to use /CHANSERV in the command.

If I recall the correct way to set the message is:

/CHANSERV SET #ROOMNAME ENTRYMSG Your message here.

#ROOMNAME is the name of your room and the # character needs to be in front of it.

    Hope this helps.

Oh cool, will try. I had searched for “greeting” but wasn’t really finding anything, but I’ll try this.

    Thanks again!
