Hey!
That’s a pretty loaded question you’ve got there.
1. I’ve experienced similar problems where some people
simply cannot access the chat room. Some solutions that
have solved this problem for me in the past…
a. Have them delete their cookies and temporary internet
files, reboot their computer, and then try getting in
again.
b. Have them un-install their Java software and re-
install the latest Java software from http://www.java.com
c. Have them upgrade their internet software (Ex: To
Internet Explorer 6.0)
See if those trouble shooting tips help.
2. Securing the rooms mode (as far as I understand it)
means that no unauthorized person can change any
settings in your room
3. Securing the moderator means that you or someone you
authorize can take control of the room, giving them the
ability to change the topic, voice or devoice people,
and kick or kick ban people.
You do this by first identifying the registered nick
with…
/identify YOURPASSWORDHERE
Then typing…
/chanserv op
If the nick is an authorized nick, it will now appear
with an @ in front of its name, meaning it’s the
moderator of the room.
4. As far as setting up no cursing…first add a bot to
your room.
Do this using the command:
/botserv ASSIGN NAMEOFYOURCHANNELHERE NAMEOFBOTHERE
To get a list of available bots, use the command:
/botserv botlist
Once you’ve added the bot to your room, add the bad
words to your bad word list. To do this, use the
command:
/botserv badwords NAMEOFYOURCHANNELHERE add BADWORDHERE
Repeat the same command for each bad word you would like
to add to your room.
5. To register a nickname, first sign in using that
nickname, then type in the command:
/nickserv register PASSWORDHERE EMAILHERE
I hope all of this helped! I’m fairly new to all this, so anyone else on here, feel free to correct anything above that’s wrong…just trying to help.
Hope it all works out! Pax!
