I went to the forum where my board is from and got the MOST helpful chick.
YOU could take a lesson from her !!
I NOW Have everything that I was asking your help with.
December 17, 2003 at 2:06 pm #2684Beth411ParticipantAs with most bulletin/message boards, one uses a smilie to designate if one is joking. I saw NO smilies in your post.
I still believe my question is a simple one, YES OR NO. IF it’s possible to do what I asked in my original post, I don’t see how it can’t be explained how to do it.
When you click on the, “CREATE CHAT ROOM” link located on the left, in here…Once there, about mid page there is an EXAMPLE of a DIRCT LINK. That is all that I am looking for to replace the Loooooooong Code.

I explained that this was my first time creating a chat room, and was only looking for some help. You’ve been a member in here since, ’01. I just registered, which signifies that I am a newbie.
My message board is a very FRIENDLY PRIVATE one. I don’t think my members would want YOU to even look at it. I find you extremely rude.
MY question was a simple one. It was a YES or NO answer. I don’t see where your going to my board, would help to solve the problem.
HAVE A NICE DAY

Hi Beth,
You can take a picture box to log in.. So you fill in your name and chat now!.. Or you can take a direct link, so it appears in a popupbox.
What I saw from you post is you have that one, so I try to help you.
If you post your code, is that for the chatbox, but the link for your visitors to click on, is like “Chat Now!”..
Or you have to post it into a forum message, that won’t work since forums don’t allow html in their posts.
You have to post it in a header or a bord as the discription.
Can you give your site url so I can take a look at it?
(It’s here very important you gave that, since it’s need to find out what’s your problem) So remember next time you have a problem, give up your site url.
And your other question, register a nickname? It’s: /ns register password email
(If you looked better, you saw in the bord “Nickserv” there are all the available options showed..)
Hope to helped you enough..
bye, bless
HI MissLoesjuh,
I appreciate your trying to help.
This IS my first time trying to CREATE a CHAT Room and MY first time CREATING a Message Board. The Message Boards that I have visited, in the past, had a SIMPLE BOX that one would click on and we’d be in the chat room.
I was wondering if I could ADD something LIKE THAT to my message board.
IF THAT is not possible, I wanted to take that long CODE, and convert it to a simpler form, ie., CHAT HERE.
As it stands right now, in my Bulletin Board/Message Board, I have a Forum Title that says, “Chat Link” but it shows up as the looooooooong link that my members have to click on. TO ME, that’s just NOT very ATTRACTIVE.
Hope the above explains further what I am trying to do.

IN regards to FRIENDS registering their name for the CHAT ROOM — Do they type: “/ns register password email” directly onto/into the Chat Room?
AND
IF after some do that, and I continue on to step 4, can I later add more members?
I have goofy friends that make up silly names for CHAT.
Would it be best, do you think, IF I just stop where I am, in regards to the Chat Room?
It is functioning just fine. We love what we have so far !!
(I printed Dave’s “HOW DO I GET FULL CONTROL OF MY ROOM?
I’m trying my best to figure it all out.)

Where do friends go to Register their names. I got to step 3 and had to quit.
THanks
