This needs to be used as a /msg command to botserv. The new server code does not support the forwarding alias /botserv. I’m assuming your room is registered. If so then for example let’s say your room’s name is CHATHOUSE and you want to assign the bot nawtyd0g you would type:

/msg botserv assign #chathouse nawtyd0g

That should work.
