Not.
<rant>
Thanks to the efforts of GWB the cost of getting a home has jumped about $5,000 dollars here where I live. My brother is the one looking to purchase a new home and this is the information he’s relayed to me. The increase is in relation to the price of OSB (oriented strand board) and plywood. I guess it’s being shipped out to Iraq to help rebuild the stuff we blew up. How wonderful.
Now not only is the economy sucking it costs more for a home. Low interest rates? Yes they are nice but if people don’t have a job they wont do them much good. I sincerely hope the rest of America is as sick of the current situation as I am and gives you the boot this next election season.

Nothing rhymes with Cindy Crawford after 9 coronas...October 26, 2003 at 7:03 pm #2400But, did you know that with that wood they are sending to Irag, they are rebuilding homes, hospitals and school buildings? We destroyed the things and we wanted them to be free and get educated. With out school buildings and so on, how can they do that?
~~~Misty~~~{@ Im the little one...and mysterious oneOctober 26, 2003 at 8:32 pm #2403Yes it’s nice that we are able to help those we step on but this is at the expense of of JoeAverage American? I just find it rather idiotic in that even after 9/11 we weren’t *that bad off* economy wise. No, not untill GWB starts looking for evil doers in that axis of evil blah blah blah blah blah jargon that spews out of him. Now we have a budget debt instead of a surplus, we have more out of work Americans (also do to the wonderful overseas outsourcing) and very little reason to think it’s going to get better anytime soon.
LoL I’m just tired of this downhill slide America is in.
Nothing rhymes with Cindy Crawford after 9 coronas...October 31, 2003 at 6:46 pm #2433I agree. Bush shouldn’t even be president. I’m not really a Gore man, but I think the country would be in better shape if he had won. The whole Florida election thing reaally sucked. There’s something wrong when you can’t count the votes twice and get the same numbers. Its funny that that contriversy happened in the state where Bush’s family member was in charge. I really wanted McCain to be President. I think he could have gotten a clear majority and done a good job.
We really shouldn’t have been in Iraq. It was a total setup. Bush demands that Saddam turn over WofMD that he knows that Saddam most likely doesn’t have or we invade. So, we invade. A very bad thing. This kind of thing is very bad for the US in the global marketplace, in addition to all the cash outlay to support the “rebuilding” of Iraq.
I too hope that we won’t have 4 more years of the Bush war machine.
Sorry for my spelling and gramar. I don’t know whats with my gramar skills today.
If you can't seem to find the right tool for the job...Its time to buy a bigger hammer.October 31, 2003 at 7:19 pm #2434LoL don’t worry about the spellings… I don’t. (that way Alisha has something to correct me on) LoL
Bush is overlooking the needs of the people, plain and simple. Tax rebate? great we can pay half a month’s mortgage or cover the cost of hot lunch for a month for our kids. All he does is provide tokens of amusement in hope that it gets his butt re-elected.
Maybe buy your wife or kid somthing and do something good with it. ya just had to find some way to WHINE about how the president was screwing you by not giving YOU enough. ME! ME! ME!
November 6, 2003 at 3:12 pm #2487Listen, stupid. Been there Done that. I spent 4 years serving in the US Army. I was prepared to die for my country at the time. Now that I have children I don’t think I could be an affective soldier because I would fear death as far as missing see them grow up.
Don’t lecture me about your patriotic BS. Please go back to the rock you crawled out from under. Thank you.
Nothing rhymes with Cindy Crawford after 9 coronas...January 14, 2004 at 5:18 pm #2840NormSParticipantThanks to GW millions of Iraqis are free, no more are being tortured, raped or killed, Saddam is caught and never again will be free to pillage his own people and threaten the world. Iran, North Korea and Libya have backed off on their weapons programs since we finally (after 8 years of wimping out under Slick Willys rule) showed backbone. Lybia specifically said they are stopping because of what we have done in Iraq. Lets see, the economy is coming back with a roar, the stock market has recoverd most of its losses from the last two years (caused by Slick Willy’s recession – documented start date: while he was still in office) job growth, which always lags rebounds in the economy is starting to come back, taxes are lower (saving you that $5,000 to build a new house). Hmmmm, I sure don’t see anything not to thank GW for here. And Dave, can you seriously say that you would vote for any of the monkeys in the Dem. primary??? These guys are clueless and if any one of them gets in say good bye to that tax saving you now enjoy. The price of plywood will come back down as soon as the supply catches up with demand then that $5000 you say it costs extra will no longer be there. C’mon Dave…..
Personally I believe that chosing a president is more or less chosing between the lessor of two evils. Looking back on things though, I find I was doing much better while a democrat was in the office. On the other hand, while I was in the military, I did better under Reagan. (who I still admire for various reasons but even his own son has stated that ‘trickle down economics’ didn’t work)
Interesting. The economy sucks now because houses are more expensive than previously? Last I checked, houses increase in price regularly for varied reasons, at least where I live…
Here I am, what are your other two wishes? ------SevvdogFebruary 19, 2004 at 4:41 am #3037Actually the cost of the building material used in the construction of the house went up so it’s passed on to the buyer. Reason? Because we needed the lumber to rebuild everything we blew up in Iraq. But, I believe the building material is down again? I don’t know though, haven’t checked in a while.
