    I’m currently unable to access ChattersOnline.com chatrooms because of an open socks server, however I have to run this for the rest of my family on the home network but would like to be able to access the chatrooms.

    I’m currently using CCProxy.

    Is there any workaround for this? I need to have some proxy software running with socks capability but want to be able to connect to the server.

    Any help would be appreciated 🙂

    I think the servers check for unsecured socks servers. Is your server secured? (that is, does it require a password before allowing logon?)

    I’m not 100% sure about the chat servers only disallowing unsecured socks servers, it could be all socks servers.

    I’m making some modifications to the chat servers this week. When I’m done I will stop the proxy scans as the trouble some could cause with open proxies will be very limited. You shouldn’t have any problems next week.

    Also, those that are behind firewalls will connect much quicker. Hoooraaaayy!
