I’ve tried using the java and direct link codes to use with my website but every time I open the chat window it says:
Connecting to LasVegas.US.ChattersOnline.com 6669
I do not see any @ symbols or names logged in on the right or any text I type appear in the chat body or text entry box. I have a mac and running on multiple browsers with the same result. IE 4.7 netscape 5 and 6, aol 6. It just seems to me that it always says connecting and never connects. I can use the demo boxes from within chattersonline.com and they work fine but when I post the code to my site and open it up there it does not work.
http://www.angelfire.com/dc/sfr/pages/chat.html is the page I’m hosting it off of or at least trying at the moment. Any suggestions or help would be much appreciated. I have no clue as to why it isn’t working. Should be a simple copy and paste job right?
The example rooms to “test drive” are working for you but when you create the code for your room and paste it to your site it fails?
I just went to your site and the chat room opened in a new window and loaded for me. This may be a Mac issue which is not unheard of with this applet. I suggest having the room load into the same page instead of a popup window and see if that works. There is no IE 4.7 so I think your refering to Netscape. If so try the very latest Netscape, 6.2, and see if that works.
