I need some help here please.

One of my members tries to get into the chatroom, but the gray box just stays there and nothing happens for her.

Her OS is Windows XP, and browser is INternet explorer 6.

She went to http://www.java.com/en/index.jsp and downloaded the Java files.

I don’t know what else to have her do??

Can anyone give me an idea what else to try Please.

    Thanks in advance!

Did she accept or deny the certificate that pops up? If she denied it, she will need to go deleate her cookies and such and try it again.

    This might be the trick.

Thanks, I’ll have her try clearing the cookies and see what happens. I’ll let you know how it turns out.

Hi! I just heard from her again. It seems she never got the chance to say yes or no to the file.

The gray box comes up and it won’t finish loading..

Do you think it might still be cookies??

She cleared her cookies, still the chat won’t load for her.

    What now??

It’s not cookies. It sounds more like java problems but if she downloaded the latest java software from sun there shouldn’t be a problem.

Have her delete her temporary internet files and shut down and restart here computer and see if that helps any.

    She figured out the problem:

hey Teena I believe I figured out what is wrong with my comp… and the chat room. When I disable my norton i am able to get it up but I have to turn it back on cause I get hit with trojan horses everyday. but I can add a site into my safe list but I would have to have the link/site.

ahhh yes… forgot about Norton and their firewalls. (which are a good thing)

Have her add chattersonline.com as a good domain.
