    Thanks for this great chat service.

    I have a registered room I want to use with a forum, I’ll try to use the forum userdb to get people logged in the channel using their forumnick.

    It’s however possible to Change Nick in the channel. Can this be disabled (using a bot)?

    The ability to change nicknames is a feature that I do not wish to change or modify. This is mostly do too the fact that other site databases may contain nicknames already registered by other users on the chat network.

    Nothing rhymes with Cindy Crawford after 9 coronas...

    Hello Dave,

    I do understand that. But that was’t really what I tried to ask. I understood that a BOT could control in ‘room’ commands, so I thought that it should be possible to get a BOT in my room preventing Nick change.

    I’ve secured and hidden my room (conform the FAQ) and I’ve set it to Invite. Yet it’s possible to enter ‘my’ room from another one, by using a ‘stranger’ nick.

    Is it possible to make the BOT check nickpasswords only and kick users with an illegal one? (I have incorporated a direct link into Ikonboard, I can add nick=’namefromdatabase’ and I can add nickpass=xxxxx in the direct url). This would allow me to ‘properly’ secure the chatbox.

    No it is not possible for the bots to check incoming passwords of users. I’m not sure what exactly you wish to accomplish here though. Are you trying to limit access to the room?

    Perhaps you could have the chat room link/login box display to registered users only. That way unregistered visitors wouldn’t know about the room.

    Just a thought.

    The link is already set up like that, and the room is Private.
