    I’m newbie to this chat room stuff and java scripts. When I go into it it won’t connect to server. Am I doing something wrong or is it my computer?

    Everything seems to be up and running. Are you still getting this error?

    Unable to connect to server

    Connection close.

    Are you behind a firewall? That may be slowing your connection or preventing it. Everything still seems to be working.

    I don’t know if I am behind a firewall. Actually I never heard of a firewall.

    Did you possibley say “No” the first time the permissions box popped up asking if it was ok to run the java chat applet? If so this may be causing you problems now. Try deleting all of your temporary internet files and cookies and restart your computer. Then try to connect to the chat room.

    Err.. easier said than done. I don’t know anything about cookies.. I don’t think and I don’t know about the temporary internet files

    What Operating system are you using and what browser and version too.

    I think my operating system is Windows ME and I think my browser is Internet Explorer and I think its version is 6.0 , I’m not really sure about this though

    Try using windows update to update your operating system and browser. If there are patches/fixes available they will be listed and explained. This may help.

    Also, are you connecting to the internet with a modem and dial-up account or connecting through a router from a network?

    Hi Dave,

    I keep getting this same error now. It was working fine before but suddenly it refuses to connect…

    The servers were down. I just sent them back up. Should be ok now.
